1 - Day Civilian Dual Purpose Motorcycle FEE: $200.00 (Additional $50 rental fee for motorcycle) LOCATION: Alameda County Sheriff's Office - Regional Training Center, 6289 Madigan Road, Dublin CA 94568 [MAP] DESCRIPTION: This program is designed to teach basic on and off-road riding skills to students who own their own dual-sport motorcycle and would like to venture off the pavement. This training is taught with the same techniques as those used for training dual purpose motorcycle officers. The instructors are professional riders who have been teaching law enforcement for years. We have combined the unique and special skills from law enforcement street and off-road training to provide you with a varied and comprehensive training program. Most accidents and collisions can be avoided with the use of proper techniques and skills, such as those taught to law enforcement motorcycle officers. Learn the same skills the help motorcycle officers ride safely. BASIC Class - This class is for dual sport riders , who have wanted to venture off pavement, but who lack the confidence or have never been exposed to off-road riding. This class is taught as two seperate sessions. The morning session will expose students to the elements of proper turning and emergency braking, as used on the street. The afternoon session will expose the students to basic dirt bike riding skills, using the non-paved portion of the training area. Riding skills will include going uphill, downhill, stopping, starting, parking on an incline and decline, going over obstacles, traversing a hill and proper techniques for turning around on a hill. This class teaches very basic road and off-road skills and is not a "dirt bike" school. PRESENTATION HOURS: This is an 8-hour course that will be presented at 0800 and end at 1700.
