Tactical Communication - Mental Health Decision Making - AM Class FEE: 25.00 LOCATION: Alameda County Sheriff's Office - Regional Training Center, 6289 Madigan Road, Dublin CA 94568 [MAP] DESCRIPTION: This is a 4-hour course focusing on persons with mental illness. Students will examine issues related to metal illness including types, dual diagnosis, suicide, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Students will participate in practical skills application video scenarios requiring appropriate communications techniques and decision making to successfully resolve the scenario. This course satisfies the POST Perishable Skills mandate for Tactical/Interpersonal Communications training. PREREQUISITE/ENROLLMENT RESTRICTIONS: This course is open to all law enforcement personnel including full-time, part-time and reserve peace officers. CERTIFICATION: POST PLAN II, POST CERT #1010-29504 REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: No shorts, sleeveless shirts, open toes or high heeled shoes, or restrictive clothing permitted. RESERVATIONS: This course is limited to 10 students per presentation and registrations will be accepted on a first come first served basis. There are two presentations per day. The first presenation listed each day is 0800-1200 hours and the second listed is 1300-1700 hours. Additional presentation dates can also be scheduled for agencies who are able to fill a course (minimum of 8 students/4 hour presentation.)
