ARSTCTL (PSP) -Arrest and Control Perishable Skills FEE: 75.00 LOCATION: Alameda County Sheriff's Office - Regional Training Center, 6289 Madigan Road, Dublin CA 94568 [MAP] DESCRIPTION: This is a 4-hour course where sworn law enforcement members will update their skills, knowledge and abilities in defensive tactics, which includes: policies, legal update, case law, restraint devices, control holds, takedowns, verbal commands, balance, stances, and movement patterns. This course fulfills the POST Perishable Skills (PSP) Arrest and Control mandate and can also be used towards the Continued Professional Training mandate. PREREQUISITE/ENROLLMENT RESTRICTIONS: This course is open to all law enforcement personnel including full-time, part-time and reserve peace officers. CERTIFICATION: POST PLAN II, POST CERT #1010-29503 REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: No shorts, sleeveless shirts, open toes or high heeled shoes, or restrictive clothing permitted. Students are required to wear clothing appropriate for application of physical techniques and defensive tactics movements. Students are encouraged to wear their agency utility uniform. Students must supply their own gun belt and handcuffs. Weapons of any type are not permitted in the classroom. Students are asked to bring copies of their agency use of force policy. Students will be required to sign a liability waiver at the beginning of the course. RESERVATIONS: This course is limited to 40 students per presentation and registrations will be accepted on a first come first served basis. Additional presentation dates can also be scheduled for agencies who are able to fill a course (minimum of 8 students/4 hour presentation.) CANCELLING REGISTRATION: To cancel a registration for a course, please notify the Regional Training Center via e-mail or phone. In all cases, course cancellations less than 5 business days' prior to class start date, may be subject to a course cancellation fee equal to 50% of the course tuition.
