Academy Instructor Certification Course (AICC) FEE: $446.00 LOCATION: Alameda County Sheriff's Office - Regional Training Center, 6289 Madigan Road, Dublin CA 94568 [MAP] DESCRIPTION: This course meets the basic instructional skills training requirement for the Academy Instructor Certificate Program to teach in a P.O.S.T. Regular Basic Course. This course provides Law Enforcement Personnel with the opportunity to develop the skill, knowledge, ability and attitude to facilitate instruction. The students will gain an understanding of how to employ adult learning methodologies appropriate for various law enforcement topics. This course is beneficial for seasoned instructors as well as new instructors who are ready to employ more effective and advanced instructional concepts in the classroom. The course includes a comprehensive review of contemporary adult learning methodologies and advanced student-centered learning classroom facilitation techniques. During this 40-hour course student will:
Students must demonstrate training/facilitation skills to successfully complete the course. PREREQUISITIES: None. The ideal students will be teaching or seeking a teaching assignment with a law enforcement or public safety related training program. PRESENTATION DATES & HOURS: This is a 40 hours course (beginning at 0800 and ending at 1700 each day). CERTIFICATION & FEES: POST Plan IV. POST Cert #1010-21705, REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Student dress code is business casual. No shorts, sleeveless shirts or open toed shoes are permitted. RESERVATIONS: This course is limited to 24 students and reservations will be made on a first come, first served basis. Use the "Register for Class" link to submit reservations on-line.
